About 138 Women

Rosary

The 1:38 Women believe in the Virgin Mary’s Fiat from Luke 1:38, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” We are women desiring to do (discover) God’s will in our individual lives and thereby bringing Hope into the world, as Mary showed us to do.

The 1:38 Women believe that the Blessed Mother is their role model. Mary amplifies the virtues of Faith, Hope and Love through her joys and sufferings. These are the virtues that we strive to emulate.

Our goal is to create an environment where discovering, “Yes, Lord!”, “I am a Handmaid of the Lord” and “God’s will is mine” is a sign of strength and the vision of an authentic women. “What does God want me to do in order to become more like His Son?” God knows better than we do what work needs to be done through us, and so we should be asking Him what He desires of us each day. Saying “Yes!” is a daily response we give back to God through the life we have committed to live.

The pressures of women’s many roles — daughter, professional, volunteer, religious, single, wife, mother, sister, friend — can lead us to a road of despair. Women need other women to offer support and sustain our call from God, as Mary and Elizabeth did for one another. We need each other to affirm our individual journey in becoming the women God created us to be.

We can stand firm in today’s world, through Mary’s example, regardless of our circumstances. We are called to follow in her footsteps, which include joys and sorrows, by saying “Yes” to God in all things. By doing this we bring life to ourselves, our families, and others. We indeed bring hope to the world! “Today, amid so much darkness, we need to see the light of hope and to be men and women who bring hope to others.” ~Pope Francis

A 1:38 Woman hears God’s call and shines bright. A 1:38 Woman listens and follows. A 1:38 Woman smiles and the world smiles back. A 1:38 Woman walks with confidence because she knows that she is loved by our Heavenly Father. A 1:38 Woman relies on Mother Mary to show her how to truly be an authentic women of God.

We are all called to be 1:38 Women. Will YOU answer the call?

About_icon1:38 Women’s Mission Statement

Women are called to be women of faith, hope and love.  The Blessed Virgin Mary is the perfect example of a woman with faith, hope, and love.  At the Annunciation, Mary was open to God’s calling through her great faith.  Mary prayed and listened and was completely open to doing God’s will when she proclaimed, “May it be done to me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38).

Mary is the perfect role model for women and through Mary’s example we can stand firm in today’s world, regardless of our circumstances, by the power of these virtues of faith, hope and love.  We are called to follow in Mary’s footsteps by saying “Yes” to God in all things, including joys and sorrows, and when we do this we bring life to ourselves, our families, and others, and we bring hope to the world.

Our  mission is to bring all women to understand the calling in their lives and to be women who hold the virtues of faith, hope and love above all, and say “Yes, Lord!” just as Mary did at the Annunciation.
